October Playlist

September disappeared with the blink of an eye, which is slightly terrifying. I don’t want to be the person to mention the festive word too soon, but… I can’t believe that there are only 12 weeks left before Christmas! What has happened to this year?

September was a rather baking themed month as we finished watching all the old episodes of Bake Off on Netflix, and I ended up making 2 cakes, biscuits, cupcakes and more. We’re not really sure what to fill our Bake Off hole with, so if you have any suggestions let me know! I like to have a good playlist to listen to while I’m in the kitchen; I like to blast music through my bluetooth speaker so I can actually hear it over the sound of my mixer. I will, occasionally, mix it up with a podcast- the Radio 4 Bookclub archive was a frequent listen in September- but I prefer music, as I get too caught up and distracted with podcasts. I’ve mentioned before that I have lots of bakes planned for this month, so I’m looking forward to getting this one on in the kitchen. I did consider making a more October themed playlist, but I like to go back to playlists frequently, and figured I’d get bored of it too quickly if I made it too on the nose. I couldn’t resist adding California Dreamin’ to it though.

This month is a bit of a mix, with a few throwbacks to my teenage years with Maroon 5 and The Futureheads (and of course The Smiths, because what angsty teen didn’t have at least one album?).

Finally, this playlist also has a few songs and bands that remind me of a very dear friend. Someone who is so present in all of my memories and stories. Memories that I cherish and keep close to my heart.
