Did I Ever Mention?
I realised that I've been blogging for over a year and I haven't really said much about myself other than some general chit chat bits here and there. So I thought now was probably about time to add a little more detail about me as a person. This has been sat in my drafts since April as I've never been particularly sure that it will actually be of any interest, but I thought I might as well share it, so here goes!
When I was younger I did a lot of dancing. I mean A LOT. I'm not exaggerating when I say I was doing something everyday of the week. I also used to do a lot of theatre work, and performed in panto every Christmas for about 5 years. I carried on dancing and acting until about 18 when I then went to uni and decided to try other things instead. I used to have a real burning passion for dance, although I knew I never wanted to pursue it professionally.
Despite this fact I've always been pretty quiet, that is until I feel completely comfortable in a person's company when I can then ramble on and show a bit of my silly self. My teachers were always quiet surprised when they found out how much stage work I did as I was so reserved in class.
To share or not to share?
I do sometimes share things too quickly with people, I don't particularly overshare but I think I jump in a little too quickly with some things. On the other hand though I can also be really secretive about big things that happen in my life, as I prefer to tell people after an event has happened to make sure nothing goes wrong. I'm also pretty terrible at small talk as it just makes me feel a bit uncomfortable and I feel a little cliche talking about the weather.
If you hadn't already worked this out I have a ridiculous sweet tooth. You know those people who say they could never have chocolate or cake or whatever for breakfast? Yeah, totally not me, I could eat chocolate fudge cake at any old time of the day. I mean obviously I don't as that would be ridiculous, but otherwise no problemo.
Long Hair, Don't Care
Up until a few months ago I had always always had long hair. When I was little my hair used to reach to my hips and that probably lasted until I was about 16. I've slowly had more inches cut off the ends but have always had it on the longer side. The other month though I went to the hairdresser who misunderstood how short I wanted to go and it ended up being cut to shoulder length. It looked great, as all hair does when a professional has blow-dried it and used all sorts of sprays and such, but it was a bit of a surprise (obviously I could feel her cutting it much shorter than expected but by that point it's much too late to say anything!). It's taken a bit of time to get used to it but I actually really quite like it this length now, and Robert keeps joking that it's made me sassier.
I really liked Flora's post about the small insignificant things so here are mine (I hope you don't mind me sharing them here Flora :) ):
- I have a birthmark on my finger that is almost perfectly square- if you squint, that is.
- I tend to tilt my head to the left when I'm thinking or watching TV.
- I have a habit of saluting solitary magpies.
